Dear Anna,

I passed Step 2 CS and THANK YOU!!! Thank you so much.

Dr. Swartz really guided us well on the road to success and honestly, I had come out of the exam feeling like I had not done too well (as you told us). But it looks like I did pretty well save the patient note which I attribute to my bad writing really.

You guys changed the way I think and really I know that I will be a better physician because of your workshop.  You have really helped me much more than you realise.

Thanking you again,

Dear Dr. Swartz and Ms. Anna,

I was in your May 2009 workshop, and took the exam on June 2 [Houston] got the result on Aug 19 and I passed.

When I came to your workshop, I had a very little idea about communication skills, but I learned a lot about communication skills after I attended it. On the final day SP encounter, you told me that I was good in ICE and SEP, but I have to improve the CIS part.  You taught me how to improve it. In the real exam, the SP's were very happy with the introduction, which you taught us.

Thanks a lot for helping me pass this exam.  I believe that you could help anybody to pass this exam.

God bless you and your team!

Dear Dr Swartz and Anna,

I passed !

I got my results today.  I got very high score in my communication and rapport skills with the patient. Your course really helped me a lot.  It gave me the confidence I needed for this test.

Those 3 days even though quite intense were perfect and very helpful.  I will recommend this course to all my friends.

Hi Anna,

This is Sushma Basa.  I was in your March 2009 workshop, took the exam in April 2009.  I got my results 2 days back and I passed.

A big thank you to Dr. Swartz.  I think the C3NY workshop really helped me pass this exam.  Thanks to the SPs for their support.  Dr. Swartz’s workshop is awesome for IMGs; it helps exactly how to be with the SPs and what are the questions to be asked.

I recommend your workshop to everyone going for Step 2CS.  Your breathing exercises helped.  I think I made a good decision by coming to your workshop.

Thanks a lot once again.

Dear Dr. Swartz & Anna,

I was feeling so worried about the CS exam until I joined the C3NY course. I joined the course just 1 week before my exam! I had no confidence of passing this exam at all....truthfully....!!  After joining this course, you boosted my confidence so much, especially the last day after the SP encounter. The SPs were so wonderful. They are really so truthful yet polite in their comments.

It was a good experience for me to know how prepared I was before my exam. Both of your comments were also so useful.  It also means a lot to meet people who are in the same position as you, and you can share your worries and anxieties without hesitation. I really liked my group.

It is a great course and I am so glad I was a part of it!  Keep up the good work.  And thank you very much for your help. I wouldn't have done it without you.

Hello Dr. Swartz,

I got the results of the CS exam today!! and Sir, I have passed it !! I am mailing you back immediately as we all participants April' 09 workshop had promised you to do so!

Sir, I owe the biggest share of this win to you, Anna Lank, Charles and all other SPs. This was my second time at the CS exam. I will never forget the days I spent in frustration when I failed in CS exam last June. I had almost lost faith in myself and also in the GOD. I felt horrible after scoring high on step 1 & 2CK.

When I gathered courage to take CS exam again, this time did not want to any chances. I had decided to give best possible effort. I came to know about your esteemed C3NY workshop from one of my friends and also through internet. I guess, there cannot be any better person than Dr.Swartz and his team to make examinees understand the way exam can be cracked. I am very grateful to the whole C3NY team because I believe its because of them, I regained confidence in myself, performance at case encounters improved dramatically and started thinking "Out of the Box" as Dr.Swartz always suggested us.

I took CS exam within 7 days of completing the workshop. The decision to enroll for C3NY workshop was, I think, the best decision I have ever made in time. It was such crucial decision and brought me success.

I strongly recommend C3NY workshop for every USMLE aspirant especially for IMGs. CS exam is altogether special & different examination pattern, and it always required special guidance and preparation. And there cannot any place better than C3NY for this. I think this workshop is "MUST ATTEND" for every second time CS takers.

Once again. I give my best wishes to Dr.Swartz, Anna Lank and other team members.

Thanks a million, C3NY.

With Best Regards,

Dear Dr. Swartz and Ms. Lank,

I have attended your workshop in April 2009 and took my exam on May 15 in Philadelphia.

I passed!!

I felt really awful after the exam but took great comfort from Dr Swartz's words.

Please thank all the SPs at C3NY on my behalf...practicing with them at the workshop made me feel quite confident in the exam.  Thanks a ton to both of you.  Your guidance was really a great help during the exam.

I know I am too small a person to say this, but it is very rare to come across a brilliant teacher like you Dr. Swartz, and I am honored to count myself among your students.

Thank you once again!!

I wish you all the very best in everything you do!!

God bless all of you.

Hello Ms. Lank,

I took the Step 2CS exam within 3 days of your course and at least 50% of the credit for passing goes to what Dr. Swartz taught me in the manner of what is really being examined in the exam. Without that, I would have definitely failed.

Dear Dr. Swartz,

I am Dr. Vaidehi Panchal from Aug' 2008 batch.  I received my CS results, and I passed the exam.

I am heartily thankful to entire team of C3NY, under guidance of which I worked for the exam in the right way. It was after attending these classes that my entire view for exam was changed. I improved my communication skills and got the right approach. I was able to face the challenging questions during exam, at my best. I felt much stressed after completing the exams and was not able to predict how I did.........but as Dr. Swartz said "If you feel that you didn’t do well during the exams-that means you did it right.........and if you feel you did it all - it surely means you missed a lot"........Thank you Doctor.  And of course how can I forget the breathing exercise taught by Mizz. Anna Lank.

I heartily recommend the C3NY workshops.

May GOD bless entire team of C3NY.

Dear Ms. Lank and Dr. Swartz,

I got my step 2 cs scores today morning, and I passed. I would like to thank you and the standardized patients for your insight and help. I was in the October 2008 batch.

I would like to share my experience in Philadelphia. The staff and sps were all very nice. I did have one telephone case. I took your advice and made conversation with the patients. Timing was not too difficult for me as I usually was on the last few lines of closing when the end bell sounded. The part which I found most helpful after attending your classes is that for a few patients who didn’t tell you what the main complaint was, it took casual conversation, not a memorized list of questions, to gain the real information from them.

After each patient I felt that I didn’t know what the diagnosis was, and I was quite worried. But then I remembered Dr. Swartz saying to us that if the diagnosis is very clear, then you are not getting the real picture.

Overall even though our interaction was a short one lasting only 3 days, it was a very intense one. Hopefully my CS scores will help me to match for 2009.

Thank you,

Hi Anna,

I am Hirenkumar Pansheriya (Dr. Kumar, a new name given by you). I was with you guys on 14, 15 and 16 July for my Step 2CS preparation.

Today I got the most eagerly awaited news of my life: that is “I passed a Step 2 CS”.

When I came out of Step 2CS center, I thought this was my worst performance among all the exams I have given in my life.  The reason I was thinking like that is I forgot to ask many questions to patients and forgot to perform many physical examinations in many patients.

Thought that someone was judging me was making me nervous all the time and that’s why I forgot to ask many questions to patients.  But during the exam one thought that was constantly going on in the back of mind is “watch the patient’s facial expression and body language” and think OUTSIDE THE BOX!

I passed thanks to you and the C3NY team. Please send my thanks to Dr. Swartz.

Best regards,

Dear Dr. Swartz and Dear Anna Lank,

I am Dr. Abhay Vakil, your student from the August workshop, 2008.  I appeared for the exam on 27th August after the workshop.

As you know I had appeared in the exam once before but was unsuccessful.  The exam was a totally different experience after attending your workshop. All the things that you taught us helped me a lot, especially being in the room, listening to the patients and not asking questions from the list.  Following this I could get a lot of positive history in much less time.

And today, I just received my results and I am very happy to inform you that I have passed the exam.  The credit goes to you, Dr. Swartz and the whole team of C3NY.

Please let me know if I can be of any help to you right now or in future.

Thanking you all for your wonderful job

Hello Dr. Swartz,

I am Dr. Mukkara Siva, Rama. I have passed Step 2CS.  Unfortunately I had failed Step 2CS three times before taking your workshop.  Honestly, I am really an above average student.

I was impressed by your Step 2CS workshop. After that I have improved my communication skills considerablely.  At the end of the workshop, I felt stressed, but I came to know many important techniques to make my clinical encounter better and more natural.  In spite of my three failed attempts, this time I knew that I am going to pass even before I take the step 2CS. This is one of my life time accomplishments with your help.

Thank you very much and I appreciate very much your directions for my exam.

Hello Sir,

I want to inform you that I have passed the CS exam.  It would not have been possible without your help and your teaching.  I not only learned the communication skills, but I got the opportunity to meet a great human being who puts his hard core effort along with his team to help the IMGs to pass this test

I cannot forget the third day of the course, when I could feel that you were so tired as you started from 9 am until 6 pm continuously except a small break, and during the last hours you didn’t even sit for a second you tried to answer all the questions students asked: this is a quality of a great human being.  And how can I forget Miz. Anna Lank…she is also a great human being too.  Her comments and advices were helpful for all of us during this course.

I am very thankful to all the SPs who were cooperative to all of us.  Please convey my best wishes to all of them

I wish you success in your field for all the time to come.

Dear Dr.Swartz and Mizz Lank,

I have attended your workshop in the month of June, and I'm happy to inform you that I have passed the exam. I firmly believe that your workshop played a pivotal role in my success.

Actually I lost my exam in Communcation Skills the last time I gave it. So, I decided to enroll in your course which has got some great reviews on the internet. You guys were so informative about the exam that I knew my mistakes and this time I corrected them. I think that your workshop along with Dr. Swartz’s book for Step 2 CS is enough for any IMG who is not fully aware of the American way of interacting with the patients, to get through the exam.

Dr.Swartz provided information about what a physician should do and Mizz Lank gave the information from the patient's perspective and this combination of you two guys make this workshop so unique. The techniques like "breathing exercise" and the concepts like "acknowledge the elephant in the room" will be helpful for the rest of my life. These things also helped a lot in my exam.

The beauty of this workshop is the direct interaction with the standardized patients who gave good feedback about our performance. Adding to it we can also get a good study partner with whom we can prepare without any conflicts in our thought process which might happen if we practice with an unknown study partner on the internet.

Thank you once again for all the help, as passing this exam was very crucial for me. Hope you guys carry out the good work and keep on helping many budding doctors. I really had a nice time at your workshop and it I am glad that I attended it.

May God bless C3NY!

Dear Dr. Swartz,

I’m Kumar K. Batra, your student from the April group.

I got my result on 18th June, and to my surprise, I passed and I really thank you and Anna more than anyone else. You people put so much effort behind me that I knew I had to pass.

Truly speaking, I was shaken on the last day when you personally called me and suggested that I postpone my exam, but in a way, that worked as a shot in the arm.  For the next 10 days, I put my heart and soul into the nitty gritties that you taught me, and I practiced and practiced and practiced with your book of course.  The other thing that helped me was that I got a study partner from someone else in the workshop who was very supportive.

Sir, I would not shy away from saying that those 4 days in NYC have changed my life forever......and for the better.  I think that your guidance will help me to become a better clinician, and above all, a better person.  Thank you sir and thank Mizzzz Lank!

May God help you in your efforts to build futures and to turn dreams of students like me into a reality.   Thanks for everything.

Dear Dr. Swartz and Ms. Lank:

Hope you remember me?

I was there in April 2008 batch. I'm happy to inform you that I've passed Step 2CS.

I feel that your program was good enough to elaborate examination details and dissect its finer aspects-which are essential to pass the examination.  Your feedback about my "faster speech" made me cautious while performing in the examination, and I tried to speak slowly - probably it allowed me to pass in SEP.  The breathing technique given by Mrs. Lank was also helpful to relieve apprehension before entering room.

On the whole I recommend this course for everybody.

I convey my gratitude to both of you and all SP's/C3NY staff.

May god bless C3NY

I am really happy to inform you that I passed Step 2CS!

Thanks a lot to your whole team of C3NY, for your valuable guidance and support, without which it would have been very difficult for IMGs like me who are not at all familiar with the patient doctor interaction in USA to pass this exam.

All the small advices that you, Anna & your team gave are in reality not at all small. I can judge this best as this was my second attempt. It’s only now I can realize their importance in cracking the exam.

Dear Dr. Swartz,

I was in your class in the November 2007 workshop. I can’t tell you how grateful I am to let you know that I learned today that I passed the CS exam.

I have previously failed this exam 2 times, in the ICE part both times. I don’t know what happened each time, but this time when I took the exam for the 3rd time in Houston, I just did exactly like what you have told in the class: "JUST TO FOLLOW THE PATIENT’S LEADS".. that’s all I did differently, and I have passed this time and am now ECFMG certified!

The course was just absolutely fantastic. Thank you, thank you so much.  I don’t have words to let you know how thankful I am. Thanks to Anna Lank too who was there most of the time during the classes trying to coordinate and teach us what the SP's expect from us.

Thank you,

Respected Dr. Swartz and Anna,

I just got my result – I passed!!!

I want to thank both of you and all the SP's. I paid attention to all that was taught each day and tried to follow it to the minutest details. Before coming to your class I had just given my CK, I didn't read any book for Step 2CS. Had just gone through forums to see how students prepare for CS. I was very much confused about the exam and had many questions in mind.

But by the end of the 3rd day, I was very much clear in mind about how to go about patients. The small videos that you showed were great help to know what I must not do in exam.

I don’t know if you remember, I was almost in tears before attending the SP I was assigned at C3NY and Anna told me its just like a stage – you’ll feel comfortable after you start your conversation-and that’s what happened. I remember that my history was over in 9 minutes, and it felt like my questions to SP were a rapid fire.  Dr. Swartz and Anna pointed that out. And I performed exactly opposite to that in real exam- I just went with the flow-keeping in mind elephant eg. given by Dr Swartz.

After attending C3NY I had started practicing with my husband, I had few querries. I e-mailed Dr Swartz and he replied to them within a couple of hours. I am thankful to him. I liked each and every point that he told us in interaction with the patient.

I scored a 99 in CK. I knew theory part but was afraid of patient interaction in this country. Thanks to Dr Swartz and Anna, I made it through this exam.

Dear Dr Swartz,

It gives me great happiness to be in a position where I can thank Dr. Swartz, Anna and all the SPs who helped and guided me in my preparation.

It was very disappointing for me when I failed in Step 2CS the first time I took it in July. I really couldn’t understand the reason for my failure. I felt I had washed my hands, summed up etc etc...all the do’s that were recommended on FIRST AID ,U/W and forums. What I didn’t know was my interpersonal skills hadn't been good enough at that point of time. I had many doubts when I was preparing for the second time. I was so confused listening to several opinions and loosing my mind.

I must thank God that I heard about the course C3NY from a friend and at the last minute paid the fees and decided to go all the way to NYC from New Mexico. This was a big decision for someone who had been in the US only for a month and had never been to NYC before. But I must say it was one of the best decisions I ever made. The course was amazing and worth all the money and stress I went through for traveling all the way etc.

I realized that all the people who had been advising me previously were like those blind people trying to figure out what an elephant looked like....this cartoon was shown to us by Dr Swartz. He is a great teacher and certainly the best and most reliable person you can ask your doubts to. I actually asked him all my doubts the very first day and there can be NOBODY who knows more about the CS exam than Dr Swartz. All the people who had by stroke of luck passed CS on the first attempt would advise me so many silly things. I do not mean to be arrogant here but it was a great realization. I do not think that his teaching was limited to CS but I think it’s for life. As a physician in this country, you have to have to be a successful and compassionate physician. That’s what this exam is about and it became so clear to me after the 3 days at C3NY.

I certainly recommend this course to all IMGS. Just for the record, the first time I failed in CIS like most people and I gave the exam again in December 2 weeks after my C3NY class and passed.

My best wishes to all exam goers and my thanks to the C3NY team.

Hi Anna,

My name is Swarajit Ghosh.  I just got the results of the step 2 CS online and I passed!

Your course was refreshing, informative and very helpful.

Many thanks to you, Ginny, Dr. Swartz and all the SP's for preparing us so well! I will most likely use what you taught even during my clinical training.

I will certainly recommend your course to other Step 2CS candidates.

Dear Dr. Swartz and Anna,

I just received the results of my CS exam, and I'm so happy to inform you that I passed.

Thank you Dr. Swartz for your wonderful teaching and guidance. You always answered all our doubts even if it would be very silly with a smile. You are indeed one of the best teacher's I have known.

Thank you Anna for teaching me everything from introducing myself to breathing techniques and of course how can I forget the coffee shop!!!

A special thank you to all the SPs. You guys were great.

Your workshop was very helpful to me, and I have recommended it to all my friends. That's the least I could do as a token of my gratitude.

I guess its time for me to go and celebrate :) Thank you all once again and God bless.

Thanks & best regards,

Dear Dr. Swartz,

I am happy to inform you that I passed CS on 30th January and I really appreciate your help.

I am now certain that Dr. Swartz you are a real master of the standardized patient encounter.  I followed everything you said during the coaching and I passed.

The biggest mistake as International Medical Graduates is that we do not understand the motive of the test and who better than you Dr. Swartz can teach it.

I wrote to you many times to clear my doubts about history and physical exam, and you replied to my emails within couple of hours, although you are so busy. I enjoyed C3NY classes very much, the environment was like a family.

I am looking to match this year and will definitely keep C3NY family updated.

Regards to Ms. Lank, she was very helpful.  I thank all SP’s of C3NY as well.

May GOD give you long life and happiness.

Hi,

I am very happy to inform you that I have passed the CS Exam.

My heartfelt thanks to Dr. Swartz and Anna Lank.  I do not have words to tell you how much your C3NY workshop helped me in the exam.  Dr. Swartz teaching is awesome.  Your way of teaching communication skills is perfect for the exam.  I gained a lot of confidence after attending C3NY, which is an excellent course.

Respected Dr. Swartz and Miss Anna,

I passed the step 2 cs.  It was my 2nd attempt.  Last time I flunked in CIS. I did everything last time: read First Aid and UW thoroughly.  But was amazed to see my result.  I was very demoralized, could not find out where I went wrong.  But it was when I attended your workshop that I found out that this exam is not just about checklists and gathering and completing the whole history. It is about the humanitarian approach to the patient.

I have no words to thank you Dr. Swartz and Miss Anna.  It was with your able guidance and your faith in me that helped my clear this exam.  I was so demoralized at that time that I was thinking of postponing the exam.  It was the last week of the slot.  So if I postponed I was sure that I would be out of this year's match.  Just because Dr. Swartz advised me to appear on the scheduled date I could gather confidence and appeared for the exam.  I am very grateful to Miss Anna too.  I called her twice after the course was over to clear some of my doubts and she was more than happy to answer all my questions.  I really appreciate your helping attitude and your patience Miss Anna.

And thanks a lot to all the SPs especially Barbara and a young white lady (I’m extremely sorry I forgot her name) and all the SPs out there. All of them are very good actors.  One thing I really appreciate about this workshop is that everybody gets personal attention.  I really appreciate your effort and want to once again thank you for your guidance.

Good afternoon Dr Swartz,

I've got some terrific news for you!!  I just got my CS result and I passed!!!!  I'm ecstatic!!  I don't have words to describe the gratitude I feel towards you and the entire C3NY team!

When I came out of the exam centre I knew I had bombed it.  But it all turned out extremely well in the end.  Looking back I had made quite a few mistakes but I always remembered what you had taught us at the workshop.. proper introduction, be polite, take a good focused history and most importantly for me - don't come out early!!!  Anna's 'coffee shop' technique worked wonders for me as well.

Once again, I don't have words to describe how indebted I am to you.  You are a Godsend Dr Swartz!!

God bless you and thankyou so much once again.

I will stay in touch and will keep you informed regarding the whole match season and Residency process.

Dear Dr. Swartz, Anna, and all the C3NY SP's,

I attended the step 2 cs workshop in July 07; 2 weeks later  I took my CS and I just got my result today and I passed.

Dr. Swartz, your teaching is just fantastic, the  confidence level that you build in  every student who comes for the workshop is just amazing. You guided me so well in the patient encounter, every question I asked the SP, you analyzed and told me my strength and weakness. Thereafter, when I took the actual exam, I was coming out after every encounter very confidently. Anna's ways of reducing the stress levels also helped a lot. I learned a lot from your SP's, when we face them during the workshop it's not easy as they are trained so well, but makes our life so----- easier during the real exam.

Dr. Swartz, I thank you for the excellent teaching, encouragement and all the help

Love to Anna and to all SP's.

I wish C3NY should open its wings in different places within US, so that more FMG'S will be benefited.

Dear Dr. Swartz, Anna, and Ginny,

I am pleased to inform you that I passed the test which I took after 10 days of attending your course. This exam is a test of your interpersonal and communication skills rather than a test of your medical knowledge, and I don’t think anyone can teach this better than Dr. Swartz and his team. There is no one else who has a better idea about the exam than Dr. Swartz and the training tools which he uses are just awesome and he keeps you so involved for 3 days that it looks like you know him forever. The one thing exceptional about Dr. Swartz is that he has time for everyone and every question (I asked him so many during the breaks) and he never looks at his watch or makes you feel hurried while teaching.

The SPs which Dr. Swartz provides and the critical analysis which he and Anna do on the 3rd day just nails the entire course to perfection.

I would highly recommend this course to anyone who is taking the step2 cs and don’t waste your time on useless books or USMLE forums where one blind man is leading another one. Just remember for professional exams you need professional help and there is no one better than Dr. Swartz and his team.

I thank you once again for lighting the bulb in my life, and I will never forget the experience I had with your team.

Hi Anna,

Well, I took my Step 2CS exam in Chicago on June 5th, 2007. The centre is easy to find, and the proctors are friendly and cheerful, and that helped me in relieving the tension.

The exam, as such, is long day. But I personally feel that 15 minutes is short a time on some cases, especially the psychiatry cases. The time for patient note was just adequate, maybe if I had a minute or two more I could have written a neat PN. The C3NY workshop helped me in time management, and the tricks on how to "wiggle out of sticky questions and situations".

Well, I just received my results in the mail, and I have passed.

I wish to thank you, Dr. Swartz and all the SPs; you all were a great help. GOD bless you all.

I will definitely recommend you to my friends who will be taking the exam.

Hello Dr. Swartz, Anna, and all others,

I am very pleased to write to you to let you know that I have passed the STEP 2 CS exam, and I wish to thank you for all your assistance in achieving my goal.

I was really nervous when I was taking the exam, but Anna's deep breathing mantra has helped me throughout this exam to maintain my cool, and go with the flow of things.  I focused on the cases and sometimes although it didn’t feel like it was the ideal 10 minute ordeal inside the room, but it felt that I had done my best when I would write the history. Active listening in my opinion is the key to passing this exam.  A doctor needs to listen and not just hear is what I have learned from this exam and you.

Thank you so much,

Today, after the more then 2 months waiting, I received the score, and I am very happy to let you know that I passed.  I took your workshop in April, 2007 and gave exam on 29th May.

Thank you and your team for helping me to pass the Step 2CS exam.  As a FMG, there was so much anxiety related to this exam.  Your workshop gave me lots of confidence to approach the patients and the exam, and I think it will also help me in the future.  I will remember your message from that picture of the elephant.

Hello Dr. Swartz & the C3NY Team!

Many thanks to all of you for such an excellent workshop in June - I took the exam on the next day (June 22 in Philly). I got the results of Step 2 CS today and I passed!!!

I was pretty nervous about my Patient Note part, thinking that I didn't do well on that one, but I guess all's well that ends well! And I am elated on seeing the result :-)

Thanks very much for your kind help in understanding the intricate aspects interviewing a patient, how to show empathy and for lots of tips that you gave. Mr. Richard was great, indeed! Please give my special kudos to him, since I learned a lot from him too.

I would heartily recommend the C3NY program to my friends.

Hello Dr. Swartz,

I am extremely thrilled to inform you that I passed the STEP 2 CS - I DID IT!

There is no doubt in my mind that I would not have been able to do this without attending C3NY. All I did was to follow your advice. There is so much more to this exam than just "history taking and diagnosis". No book teaches you about the communication part. What I learned at C3NY, no book could have ever taught me, and I am glad I was a part of it.

I was not sure how I performed in the exam. My overall feeling was that the exam was difficult. Your classes were the best preparation for the test. The cases I did from your Step 2 CS review book were the closest in terms of what to expect from the exam.

I was very nervous in the exam before I would enter the room, but Ms. Anna's deep breathing helped tremendously with that, it helped me forget one thing and move on to the next.

I thank the C3NY team for all their efforts in helping students get through this test.

Thank you once again for everything.

Dear Dr. Swartz,

I attended your clinical workshop in April '07 and gave my USMLE step 2 CS exam in May, and I am extremely happy to let you know that I passed.

I would like to thank you for your impeccable teaching and your guidance which made it very simple for me to go into the exam with confidence.  Before coming to your class, I had not read anything for this exam and came to your workshop without any preparations, but doing that helped me the most.  As I could assimilate all the information you gave without any difficulty.

I would also like to thank Ms. Lank and all the SPs for the fantastic job they did.

I am really happy I took this course, and I would definitely recommend it to everyone going for this exam.

At the end, again thank you all for the great time I had at your workshop, and I hope you all keep up the good work.

Dear Anna and Dr. Swartz,

Finally I passed my Step 2 CS exam.

I am very thankful to the C3NY class that I joined in April 2007.
Before the class, I was so depressed and felt fear for the Step 2 CS exam.  But in the class you both taught us all the components very well so I felt much better.  Even in class, when I took the sample exam, I became anxious and my mind became totally blacked out but after that Dr. Swartz gave me advice and encouraged me.  After completion of the class with all the advice and information, I practiced with my friend on the phone and did physical examinations on my wife. Then, I felt so much better. I took my exam after 15 days of completion of class on 8th May 2007 in Chicago.

Thank you very much Dr. Swartz, you and all your co-partners who helped me in this situation and opened the door for me in the US medical field.

Great work, keep going, best wishes,

Hello Dr. Swartz & Anna,

Heard the magic word...PASSED IN CS.....It wouldn’t have happened without you.

I came to C3NY in despair on 16 April....Having secured 99% with a 3 digit of 249 on Step 1, I took CS in Houston just to receive a failing result in Feb 2007.

On the first day of the C3NY workshop, I felt a ray of hope dazzling.....At the end of workshop, although, I didn't perform well in my practice case.  The confidence you created in me however kept me alive.  I retook the exam again in Houston after your workshop and I passed!

THANK YOU ONCE AGAIN!

Dear Professor Swartz and Ms. Lank,

Last night I returned from Experimental Biology 2007 meeting at Washington DC, and I found the letter in my mail box from the ECFMG.  With a lot of anxiety,  I opened it, and found that I passed my step 2 CS.  I thank you and your team at C3NY and the friends who attended the workshop with me at C3NY for my success.

Professor Swartz you are the exceptional medical teacher who knows everything about sociocultural, linguistic and academic problems of international medical graduates from across the world.  I strongly feel that the clinical skills we learned in your workshop will help not only in passing Step 2 CS, but will continue to help us our future medical career.  You are a great teacher of the art and science of clinical methodology.

After attending your workshops, I used only your book "The Ultimate Guide and Review for the USMLE Step 2 Clinical Skills Exam".  With help of the two other IMGs I met at C3NY, we practiced the cases in the book 3 times.  The cases in your book are extremely helpful and those who practice them all thoroughly will certainly do well in their clinical encounters in Step 2 CS and in their patient notes. The cases presented in your book are very appropriate and broadly covered all the cases on Step 2 CS.

I once again thank you and your team.

Dear Dr. Swartz,

I passed!  I want to thank you with all my heart because without your guidance I wouldn't have been able to clear my step 2cs exam.
Joining your workshop was one of my best decisions!

If anybody ever asks me "what do I did I do to clear step2 cs exam? I would just say "Join Dr. Swartz workshop".  You have induced in us confidence, skills and technique to face the exam and to become a doctor in the right sense!  When I was taking the exam, I could just recall what you had taught us "don’t use mnemonics, just go in with a clear mind" and that’s what I did!

I want to thank Ms. Anna Lank and all the SP's who had sincerely taken the effort to see that we learn the right way of communication with the patients!

Thank you Dr.Swartz.

I do not have words to express my thanks to you and Prof. Swartz.  I have passed the Step 2CS.

Your course was of great help. It gave me great confidence in dealing with all types of SPs.  I was hardly stressed during the exam.  Prof. Swartz's concept of looking out of the box was very helpful. His tips on clinical examination were very helpful.  He is undoubtedly the best teacher to learn a lot from.  I appreciate his patience and endurance to teach for hours together with the same energy throughout.  I am finding his clinical concepts of great help in daily practice.  His positive approach towards exam preparation is instrumental in fetching success to his students.  The course is the best for Step 2CS.

Dear Dr. Swartz and Anna,

Firstly I would like to thank you from the bottom of my heart for helping me pass the clinical skills examination which I took on the 20th of January 2007.  This was my second attempt, and I was so scared to take the exam before I joined the December workshop.  The workshops helped me to walk into the exam with great confidence.  The tips given by you which were 180 degree opposite to those mentioned in the review books and online courses helped me to take effective history and physical exam on the standardized patients.

I think if had I taken this course for my first attempt I would have passed the exam.  It was a great workshop.  I made good friends there. Thank you sir for all your help.

Dear Dr. Swartz,

It is with great joy that I am writing to you to let you know that I PASSED the Step2 CS test. I really could not have done it without all the input I got from you and your team at C3NY. In the midst of all the misleading information provided on various websites and live prep courses, I found your workshop to be like a lighthouse which guided me to my success.

During the history-taking, I was easily able to pick up the subtle clues given by the SPs and during the physical exam, I knew exactly what exams to perform in the few remaining minutes that will score me points. Though I ran out of time in some cases, I was able to close the encounter properly with a just a couple of well chosen sentences. In a nutshell, your workshop made all the difference in the world for me.

Thank you for all your guidance and feedback. It was an amazing experience. My special thanks also to Anna, Charles, and other members of your team.

May the essence of your extraordinary workshop travel far and wide so that many more doctors benefit from it.

Dear Dr. Swartz,

C3NY definitely helped me pass my exam. You prepared us so well, that I was ready to handle any clinical case, not just a few.

I knew what to ask for history, what to look for on the physical, how to close the encounter in routine and in case of emergency, so It was great relief.  Though I made few mistakes in the exam, C3NY gave me the confidence that I would really do fine.  This is really important especially for IMGs.

I took my Step 2CS at Houston in May & passed it with all of your help. Sorry for informing so late...I got my results by end of June.

Dr. Swartz, when I came to C3NY, I had no idea how the exam would be. Everybody seemed to have prepared for the exam before they came for the course, & I felt lost on the first day. C3NY gave me the confidence & the right guidance which other books or materials would not have given me. Dear Dr. Swartz,

I hope you remember me. I was a participant of your April Step 2 CS workshop. I am glad to tell you that I have passed the CS exam and have obtained the ECFMG certification.

You were right, a candidate cannot judge his performance in the exam. The result proves that I was wrong in assessing myself. I thought that I will not do well, but the result was a pleasant surprise.

I think I owe a lot to you and Anna for your expert advice and tips for this exam. Your course was the critical factor in tilting the result in my favor. In hindsight, I think I should have given more time between your course and the exam to fully assimilate the important points and through you I would like to pass this message to all future course participants.

I plan to write step 3 in Sept-Oct this year.

Thanks a lot for your help.

I shall come to see you and Anna again when I come to New York (probably in Sept-Oct).

Special thanks to you Sir. I came to know that I passed my step 2-cs exam today. I took the test on April 24th. Well I don't know where to begin...I found ALL of your points useful in the exam. After the course in March, for the exam I was always ready to pick up any clue that the SP's were directing me to other than the presenting symptom; so your concept of "THINK OUTSIDE THE BOX" really helped.

I would definitely recommend this course to all those who are skeptical about the exam. It gives a great direction to go.

Keep up the good work Sir.

Hi Anna,

I just received my letter, and I cleared the exam!

It is a unique examination. I liked the physical examination part and standardized patient cases of your course. I got to know about few people from your course with whom I practiced after the workshops. That was also very useful. Anna, one has to be confident about what they are doing in the exam, and present themselves well. So practice, practice, practice and more practice. Your course gives good orientation. Since it is only a three day course, no one should expect to learn all medicine within those three days. After attending your course, everyone should go back and practice seriously for two to three weeks. I also read USMLE World and First Aid for Step2-CS. The worst part of this exam is that, you have to wait so long to get the result, and you are not sure how well you did in the exam.

I would recommend your course to everybody who is taking this exam after little bit of preparation. They should also form groups and practice.

One again thank you, Dr. Swartz and awesome Ginny.

Dear Dr Swartz,

Thank you and Anna.

I passed my step 2CS. I had given my exam on 28th March 2006 , came from UK to attend your February workshop. It was of great help to me. It helped to boost my confidence. Your way of teaching was excellent. You gave me the right direction.  Learning through books is easy, but application needs right approach, which you taught me.

If anyone has a slightest doubt about his/her success in Step 2CS, they should definitely attend this workshop; its worth spending their hard earned money.

Thanks once again to you and Anna.

Hi Dr Swartz and Ms. Anna,

I am sorry for this late reply. I have passed step 2CS last month. Thank you very much for your great guidance. You know I was so upset when I have took step 2CS: 4 cases were terrible, but I just followed the communication skills you taught me and all of Dr. Swartz’s rules and I did it.... I now realize that this exam is only communication and good bedside manner....only a little bit of medical knowledge (only for diagnosis).... thank you very much once again.

Take care, Bye,

Dear Ms. Lank & Dr. Swartz,

This is a message to you and to Dr. SWARTZ. I have passed my step 2 clinical exam, and I express my sincere thanks to you all for the wonderful tips and insight you have given me for the exam. I was very nervous after the exam as I lacked time in some cases. But I stuck to taking a good history though I ran short of time in a few cases. I focused less on the physical exam and thought more about the counseling which worked in my favor I guess. Overall the case pattern was not very different from my first experience, but taking a good history and not leaving the room early (which I did realize after the first experience was not a good thing to do) paid me good dividends.

I am sure the students would benefit a lot from your course, and my appreciation to you all once again for the excellent guidance and encouragement.

God bless,

Hello Dr. Swartz, Anna, and Ginny,

A very Happy New Year to everybody at C3NY.

Finally, I got the most precious mail ever, i.e. the result of my step2 CS, and it said PASSED!!!!!

I hope you all remember me—I was 7 months into my pregnancy when I attended the workshop in August. And there is one another good news too—I had a baby girl on the 17th of October 2005. We have named her Eira.

I was very happy on reading the results of my workshop colleagues — Pratibha, Kamna, Shabbar Sajjad, Lalit, Shweta, Kalpesh. I would like to thank everyone who practiced with me on the 3rd day, and I think that was the thing that clicked as that practice session made me realize my weaknesses. And on the test day, Dr. Swartz’s words were echoing in my ears again and again as if he is standing right behind me and telling me what to do next. He taught us in such systematic way that you can’t forget ever what the sequence in the examination and history taking is.

I think it was the best decision I ever took in my life to join C3NY classes.

All the best to everyone at C3NY for all future ventures. May you reach the topmost level possible!! Thanks once again.

Yours sincerely,

Hi Anna,

I would like to thank you, Dr Swartz and the SPs for your help and critique during the course.  It was a great experience.  I must add comment that one spare day that we had (between day 2 and day 3) to play with the oto-ophthalmoscopes as well as do some practice exam on each other was very useful.  It not only brought us together as a group, but also helped us exchange some important info regarding the exam as well as future plans.

I took exam on Dec 16th and received result within 5 weeks.  Dr. Swartz is a great teacher, and I enjoyed learning some imoprtant steps that are hard to pick from the books.

I have also heard comments from other people and having experienced it, I think your program is the most well-structured, organized and to the point. I am sure over the next years it is going expand and lots of folks like me will benefit from it.

Thanks again,

I am highly excited to convey to you and all IMGs that I passed Step 2-CS! I now join your CLUB! What a relaxing moment!!!!! I took your workshops in September. They were outstanding. I learned so much about the exam and about how to practice in the USA. It was just what all IMGs need to pass the exam. I will recommend it to everyone taking the exam!!!!!

Long Live C3NY!

Dear Ms. Anna Lank,

Thank you. First, I want to wish you, Dr. Swartz and all the staff a happy 2006. My step2 clinical skills exam result came yesterday. I passed the exam. I am profoundly thankful to all of you at the C3NY for having imbued me with the right way of communication skills focusing on the person, the human being in front of us-rather than thinking of them as cases and case lists.

Within those two days at C3NY training, I imbibed a new approach to communication which will be a most useful tool, not just for the exam, but for an enriching life experience with people whose care I am entrusted with. Special thanks to all the actors who gave their time and valuable feedback.

Sincerely,

Dear Dr. Swartz and Anna,

I just got my results after a long 2 months wait and I PASSED!!

I am thankful to God that I took the C3NY workshop which didn't just serve as a channel for knowledge but also a way to improve one's confidence, positivity and inner strength. Initially I was not too sure of clearing this exam as I had not given my step 2 CK. But after the 3rd day of the workshop I was self assured that I will pass the test!!

C3NY teaches us that CS is not merely knowing medicine but is more about how to make your patient feel comfortable and warm in a doctor's presence!! Simply, things like smile, confidence, asking the patient how he feels and so on are of paramount importance... more than just one's medical knowledge.

My test overall went pretty good as just before the test I remembered a few of these simple tips which we were taught and Anna’s deep breathing tips…..which works like magic Anna!!
And most importantly the what I call “Hidden truth of the doorway information” which was so true since 5 out of my 12 cases where totally ambiguous and had absolute no connection with the provided doorway information; that’s when I remembered you Dr. Swartz and knew its more important to “Listen to the SP than asking questions. “

Thanks a lot once again ….. I will never forget these simple but sweet medical art of patient dealing……. C3NY rules!!

Dear Anna,

I just got my results. I passed!!!!!!!!!!  It has been quite frustrating waiting for the results. There were people who took it 10 days after I did and got the results way before me. I was beginning to have doubts. Compared to the previous time, the exam went pretty well except for one rather annoying mistake I made. I had typed the first case and didn't finish that patient note because I was too slow typing on the keyboard (I'm more used to my laptop). Anyway I switched to writing after that.

I had the Malaysian sisters (from the C3NY workshops) with me on the day of my exam, and it was a comfort seeing their friendly faces.

Your advice of breathing really made a big difference. I was loud and clear, and none of my SP's had any problems hearing or understanding me.

Do convey my regards and much thanks to Dr. Swartz. His teaching is invaluable, and I am sure that his words will be ringing in my ears even when I go on to practice Medicine.

Thanks once again for everything.

Dear Dr. Swartz, Anna, and Ginny,

I don't know how to express in words what I'm feeling right now. I just got the results for my CSA, and I cleared it!

The first thought that came to my mind after thanking God and my husband was that I could have never done it without C3NY. Taking this course was the best decision I have ever made. It changed my whole perspective towards the exam. I still remember the way we had been taught how to introduce ourselves. It seemed a little unbelievable at that time but when I took the exam, it came home how much difference that really made. The simple sentence that I picked up from Dr. Swartz during one of his classes about asking the patient first thing after introducing "Are you comfortable sitting or would you rather lie down" always drew a warm response from my patients. I now realize that this exam is all about these simple things only, and the ones we could miss out so easily without the proper training.

THANK YOU ALL SO MUCH for helping me and bringing me one step closer to my aim.

I wish C3NY all the success, and may you help so many others like me.

Dear Dr. Swartz,

I attended your C3NY training in September 2005. After the first day of the class, I was greatly relieved that I took the training. After the first day I realized the objective of Step 2 CS and what they were looking for. It was sort of a purifying experience you can say. Almost everything I had imagined about Step 2 CS was WRONG. I learned a lot in the four days with you.

After the exam, I was very upset that I hadn't done well, but you predicted correctly my reaction and my results.

I highly recommend the course to anyone who wants to pass the exam and become a better clinician.

Thank you once again. I appreciate all your help and guidance.

Dear Dr. Swartz, Ms. Ginny, and Ms. Lank,

I am glad to inform you that I took Step 2 CS in Philly on September 6, and I PASSED!!

I attended the C3NY workshops in August 2005. It was fun learning from all of you, and I must say it really helped me as whenever I knocked on the door, I expected Mary Smith to be there! All the encounters went well. Thanks to Dr. Swartz, Anna, Ginny, and my workshop colleagues, Kalpesh, Muktak, Anant, Monica, Pratibha, Amna, Shivani and a long list.....who practiced with me as a group. I cannot forget Anna saying "BREATHE......." which I did after I finished every encounter.

I really enjoyed learning as well the lesiure time in New York. Believe me before coming to New York I didn't touch any book, and after the workshop was over me and Kalpesh, whom I met for the first time only at the workshop, practiced for about 15 days before appearing for Step 2 CS.

Thank you all once again!

Wish all my colleagues sucess in Residency Match Program,

Wish C3NY great Sucess and a brilliant future.

Dear Dr. Swartz, Ginny, Anna and all the SPs,

I just learned that I have passed!! Thank you so much for everything.

I attended your August workshop, and you may remember, I didn’t do well on the history with the patient on the 3rd day of the workshop. I left the workshop feeling pretty low, but I resolved to work hard using all the feedback you gave me. Although I was not totally happy with my performance on the Step 2-CS exam, with the kind of training that you gave me, obviously nothing could have gone wrong and... I passed!!

Believe me; I’ve never walked into an exam feeling so confident about myself. I found myself following the protocol almost mechanically during the exam. It was as if I could hear Dr. Swartz saying, “Knock…Introduce yourself...Drape..." and so on. The interview techniques you taught us were great. I felt as though I really connected with the patients…there was just the kind of ‘ping-pong’ of conversation that Anna emphasized. At the end of my third encounter, the SP told me, “Thank you doctor that was great.” That gave me a big boost of confidence, and I sailed through my remaining encounters.

I would recommend your workshop without hesitation to all who plan to take the CS exam.

Thanks again…I find myself using the skills you have taught me, everyday in my clinical practice...C3NY for life!

Hello Dr. Swartz, Ginny, and Anna,

My name is Dr. Kalpesh Patel. I attended your workshops in August 2005. I took my exam on 6 September in Philadelphia, and today I got my result...I PASSED the exam!

I am really thankful to all three of you who really helped me and many others in passing this exam. All of you took your personal interest in our preparation and that is what I liked most about your classes. Since the patients in the actual Step 2-CS exam were not as tough as in the workshops, as Dr. Swartz told us, the exam looked easy to me since I was well prepared for the "tough ones" by you guys. Once again thank you very much for your help, and I really really appreciate everything that you are doing for the IMGs.

Thanking You,

Hello Dr. Swartz and Anna,

This Prathiba Doddabasappa who attended the August class. Today, I checked on the Oasis......Immedately all the letters were in the RED....showing you not eligible to reapply for the exam--I PASSED!

You may remember I am the person who made the mistake while taking the history from the anxious woman on the third day....you gave me so much encouragement. You kept saying "you have a great personality..you can do it". I kept that in my mind always when I went to exam....and I finally succeeded. I took the exam 2 weeks after the workshops.

Thanks Dr. Swartz for teaching us how to take a history and do a physical examination and all the communication skills. Your teaching us how to write a clincal history and write-up was excellent. Regarding the cases on the exam, they were all similar to the ones we did in the C3NY workshops.

I am thankful also to Anna for her breathing techniques and exercise and for the greeting exercise. At first, the exercise seemed silly....but it was really worth it.

Good luck for the future C3NY participants who are taking the course and exam. THE WORKSHOPS ARE WORTH EACH AND EVERY PENNY!

Once again thanks so much Dr. Swartz and Anna.

Dearest Dr. Swartz,

I have some Good News for you.  I just checked my Oasis and they indicated that I HAVE PASSED.....And I cannot thank you enough for that Sir!!!

But passing the Step 2-CS is the least impact that you have made in my life as a doctor.  After your class I have undergone tremendous changes as a clinician and I am dying to apply those when starting my residency next year.

I consider myself so lucky to have attended this workshop.  As soon as the workshop started, I thought that it was going to be an extraordinary program, but after the first 2 hours on the day one, I thought that this workshop is definitely going to change the way I am going to practice medicine for the rest of my life.  Considering that medicine is my life, this workshop is going to change my life.

I suddenly realized that I was until now learning and practicing the “Science” of Medicine when in fact Medicine is more of an “Art”.  In order to be a good doctor, I have to learn the Art of Medicine as well.  And as I paint a lot, I know that you cannot learn art from text you have to study with a master.  Dr. Swartz, I must say that you are a master.

Please thank Anna on my behalf.  Her breathing technique was so effective...and plus her suggestions with the name and all other comments...and also thanks to all the SPs for all their help....

I would recommend your course not only to all Step 2-CS examinees but also to anyone who wants to become a Good Doctor.

It was my honor and extremely good fortune to have met you and have had an opportunity to learn from you....I hope I can keep learning from you in the future.....

Thank You once again,

Seeking Your Blessings,

Your Student,

Hi,

Good morning. First of all thanks a ton to Ms. Anna Lank and Dr. Mark Swartz for that great clinical workshop. I was in your July workshop and I took my exam in Philadelphia on 8th August 2005. I just got my score today that I passed my exam.

I want to tell you something: Dr. Swartz you are really a great teacher not just because you teach well but I was so much impressed by this that how much you worked hard on us like from your heart you want everybody to understand everything and pass the step-2cs exam. I really appreciate that. You worked very hard with us.

Thanks a lot again, and I wish good luck to everybody who already attended or will attend your workshop.

Dear Dr. Swartz and Anna,

I am feeling excited to tell you that I just got my result of step 2 cs yesterday, and I passed it!! I took it on 14th June in Los Angeles, and I was enrolled in your May workshops. I would like to mention that this happened after a failure, and the only thing which changed between failure and success was that I attended your classes, which was one of the best learning experience in my life.

On my previous attempt, I failed in Spoken English Proficiency (SEP). Before attending your workshops, I was very confused on how this workshop would affect my SEP, but I was wrong. Now, I strongly believe that following your concepts and styles of dealing with this exam affected and lifted my entire performance including SEP, which helped me to pass this exam.

Things I liked the most about your workshop are: your fundamental approach and knowledge of dealing with this exam, constant feedback by you, Anna, SPs, direct interaction with your SPs who have been real SPs and watching other people performing real encounter etc. Through your workshop, I also got good friends to practice for this exam, and now we are planning for the residency together.

I have already recommended my friends about your workshops and will continue doing that. Most importantly, some of them already took the exam after me and passed this exam.

I am really thankful to you and Anna, not only for helping me to pass this exam, but also for teaching me helpful traits toward my medical career in United States.

Hello Dr. Swartz,

My name is Gulvahid, and I attended your June C3NY Step 2-CS workshops. I am very glad to inform you that I got my result and I passed.

I am very much thankful to you for all the things that you taught me. Before attending the workshop, I was very concerned about the direction I should take (what was important for the exam), but you showed me the right path to take. Things that you taught me were not only helpful for the exam, but I think they will help me in my entire medical career. I am indeed most grateful to you and your excellent style of teaching.

Now anyone who asks me how to prepare for exam, I tell them that they must join your class!

Once again thanks.

Dear Dr. Swartz and Anna,

I took the C3NY course in April 2005, took the exam in May, and I just learned that I passed the exam. I want to thank you both very much for all the help.

Dr. Swartz, you are a wonderful teacher, and you taught exactly what we need to know for this exam. I would say you are one of the best teachers I have ever had.

About the exam, I did exactly what you advised us to do, I spoke slowly and followed everything you told us to do and I passed because of you.

I have been telling all my friends the good work of Dr. Swartz and will continue to do so.

Thank you once again, and I wish you my best.

Respected Sir,

Long time back, I read a famous quotation. It was "a good teacher is like a candle - it consumes itself to light the way for others". There can never be a better way of describing your teaching at the workshop.

In the middle of May, I landed in US with fear and apprehension about Step 2 CS. But things changed after I started attending your workshop in the third week of May. You gave a lucid and clear idea about the exam and also the ways to achieve success.

I took the exam on 3rd June in LA with gusto and confidence. All's well that ends well. I passed. I have no words to express my gratitude for the contribution you have for helping me to pass the exam. I will also take this opportunity to thank all the SPs for their critical comments in helping to improve the performance of all the exam-takers including me who had joined the workshop. I also thank Anna and Ginny for their help.

Nothing succeeds like success. With reverence, I write "SIR THANK YOU VERY MUCH" because the "Fearful trip is done...... and the prize I sought is won".

May God Bless you and everyone in the workshop. I sincerely hope the hard work and effort you are putting in, will bring you more and more success in the days to come.

Bye,

Sincerely yours,

Hello Dr Swartz,

I attended your Step 2 CS 3 day workshop in Manhattan in February 2005, and sat for my exam 4 days later. I did everything as instructed, especially the communication part but felt that I had not done well. I just got my results and I passed! The 3rd day interactive session with the simulated patients was very good. You just told us what is required to pass the exam and the American way of doing things, which is very important. It is money well spent to attend such a course in order to achieve good results.

Many thanks .

I've just received my results, and I passed Step 2-CS. The workshops were a very intensive 3 day program where I learned how to interview and examine a patient in 15 minutes. It was very focused learning. I have been able to practice it when I see my real patients in real life. It works. Thanks for all your help. I feel I am a better doctor already.
